From now on, everyone with social assistance benefits may receive 1,800 euros in gifts. This has no consequences for your benefit. At first the amount was 1,200 euros.
How does it work?
You may receive a maximum of 1,800 euros in gifts per year. Do you receive more donations than the maximum amount of 1,800 euros? Then we count the amount above 1,800 euros as assets. This usually has no consequences for your benefits. Unless this means your assets are too high.
How high can my assets be?
Your assets may not exceed:

What is a gift?
A gift is an amount of money or the value of something that you receive once. You receive it from someone or an organization that would like to give it to you. You don't have to pay it back. And you don't have to do anything for it. For example, you get:
- a bag of groceries
- money to help you pay bills
- a refrigerator or washing machine
