Data, audio and camera image specialist – Eindhoven Police

WHO IS IT INTENDED FOR?

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

You become part of the DAC team (Data, Audio, and Camera Image Specialists)You will be trained in all three specialties, but will be assigned one main specialty that best suits your preferences and personality.

Data specialist

  • You examine data from seized devices such as phones and laptops.
  • You search specifically for relevant information for criminal investigations.
  • You structure and describe your findings factually and accurately.
  • Your analyses help determine the direction of the research.

Audio specialist

  • You listen to interrogations and confidential conversations and transcribe them verbatim.
  • You work with software and filters to improve poorly audible fragments.
  • Your transcripts are being used for evidence and follow-up steps.

Camera image specialist

  • You view camera footage from private individuals, businesses, and police cameras.
  • You follow a specific search assignment and record all relevant observations.
  • You work on investigations that often involve serious crimes.
  • Your observations can directly contribute to evidence in criminal cases.
WHAT DOES YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE?

You work in a quiet, low-stimulus environment within the Investigation Desk in Eindhoven. You start your day by picking up a new assignment or further developing ongoing material. Depending on your specialization:

  • In data work Search your digital files, apps, messages, and folders according to clear work instructions.
  • In audio work You listen attentively to interrogations or confidential conversations and transcribe them accurately.
  • With camera footage Review your footage frame by frame and note down all relevant details.

You work independently, but always have colleagues and supervisors nearby for questions or support. Because the material can sometimes be intense (e.g., violence, abuse, serious crimes), there is a strong focus on your well-being. You have regular meetings to discuss how things are going and where you might need support. Occasionally, work outside standard hours may occur, but this is always done in consultation.

WHAT DO YOU BRING?
  • Good written and spoken command of the Dutch language
  • Ability to work with sustained concentration
  • An eye for detail and the ability to distinguish between main and secondary issues
  • Integrity and sense of responsibility
  • Affinity with police work
  • Flexibility and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Awareness that you are working with potentially intense material and the ability to discuss this.
WHAT DO YOU GET IN RETURN?
  • A function of 24–32 hours per week (less is not possible)
  • A gross monthly salary of €2,595 to €3,862 (GDP scale 5) at 36 hours
  • A low-stimulus, accessible workplace (wheelchair accessible, reachable by public transport, service dog allowed)
  • Support from two permanent managers and a close-knit team of 10 specialists
  • A safe working environment where well-being, trust, and fun are central.
  • A temporary appointment of 1 year, with the possibility of extension upon satisfactory performance.
  • Start date: 01‑09‑2026 (insofar as the procedure permits)
