Senior Grounds Manager at Tilburg University

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

As a groundskeeper you work outside all year round. You make sure the campus looks neat. Your tasks are:

• Keeping the area clean: cleaning up litter, glass and cigarette butts.
• Empty waste bins and check if containers are full.
• Placing and emptying waste containers at events.
• Remove incorrectly parked bicycles.
• Clearing leaves in the fall.
• Keeping gardens tidy by removing weeds and litter.
• Watering plants and trees.
• Fix or replace loose paving stones.
• Clearing snow and spreading salt in winter.

WHAT DOES YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE?

You work according to a fixed schedule from Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

As a senior site manager, you are the point of contact for your team. You see what needs to be done and consult with the project leader or supervisor. You help colleagues by answering questions and divide the work if necessary.

WHAT DO YOU BRING?

• You enjoy working outdoors.
• You can walk a lot and stand for long periods of time.
• You have good communication skills and are empathetic.
• You can work with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
• You are friendly and helpful to everyone.
• You are willing to work at events a few times a year on weekends.
• You can work independently and are eager to learn.
• You are willing to learn new things that are part of your job.
• You have a class B driving license to drive electric cars.

WHAT DO YOU GET IN RETURN?

• Work clothing is provided by Tilburg University.
• Your exact working hours will be determined in consultation. Working hours between 28 - 40 hours per week.
• You start with a trial placement of 2 months. This can then be converted into a 6-month contract, with the prospect of extension or a permanent contract.
