WHO IS IT INTENDED FOR?
This vacancy is intended for people who need extra guidance or support in the workplace.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Surveillance both in the buildings of Tilburg University and outside on campus;
- Enforcement of the house rules on campus grounds and in the buildings;
- Ensuring compliance with the smoke-free policy on campus grounds;
- Addressing students, staff, and visitors regarding behavior and order. You are an asset to the security team and are hospitable;
- Showing visitors the way or speaking to them;
- Providing support in emergency response emergencies;
- Identifying and reporting unsafe or undesirable situations to the appropriate persons or authorities;
- Performing administrative tasks, such as recording data and briefly describing incidents;
- Ensure a safe, orderly and hospitable environment for everyone on campus.
WHAT DOES YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE?
At the agreed starting time you report to pick up your walkie-talkie. Here you will be told what work you can do. Once you have received your work instructions, you walk onto the campus grounds. You meet various colleagues and speak to students. You take a break with your colleagues and then you pick up your rounds again.
WHAT DO YOU BRING?
- Lots of walking and standing work;
- Willingness to work irregular hours (sometimes evenings/weekends) according to a variable monthly schedule; 08.00 – 23.00
- Use of a walkie-talkie during shifts (which is on continuously throughout the shift);
- You can get along well with people and you have a service-oriented attitude;
- You are sociable and you dare to address people about order, behavior and neatness;
- You can work well independently. If something unexpected happens, you make quick decisions;
- You stay calm when things are busy and you take on work that needs to be done on your own initiative;
- You have sufficient oral and written expression skills in Dutch, and you can also express yourself sufficiently orally in English;
- You look neat and professional;
- You are willing and able to take the first aid courses at the university
WHAT DO YOU GET IN RETURN?
- During your work you will receive work clothing (supplied by the employer)
- Your exact working hours are negotiable: depending on the number of hours you can/want to work, you will be deployed on the basis of a variable monthly schedule.
- minimum 24 hours, maximum 40 hours per week
- You start with a trial placement of 2 months
- If performance is good, this will be converted into a paid contract with the possibility of extension.
