Handling individual income allowance
Once we have received your application (with all supporting documents), you will hear within 8 weeks whether you will receive the allowance. The municipality often has to request information from the UWV. That will take a few weeks. Do you appear to be entitled to the allowance? Then the amount will be in your account within 2 weeks.
What is the maximum amount I can have in income and assets to qualify?
110% of the social assistance standard applies to this. As of January 1, 2024, these amounts are:
You are between 21 years old and state pension age | Your net income per month without holiday pay is less than | Your net worth is less than |
Single | € 1.341,60 | € 7.575 |
Single parent | € 1.724,92 | € 15.150 |
Married/cohabiting | € 1.916,57 | € 15.150 |
You cannot derive any rights from these amounts. The municipality will calculate whether you are entitled to the scheme.
Calculate the income
To calculate your income (and that of your partner), you add up all the income for one month.
Add up
- Income from work/benefits (without holiday allowance)
- Pension, alimony/maintenance contribution
- All other income
- For married couples: the General Tax Credit Tax Credit (IB/PVV) for the least-earning partner
- As a single parent, do you receive a child-related budget? Then you count €290 per month as income. The amount above that is not counted as income.
Don't count
- Energy allowance or a contribution for energy costs from the national emergency fund
- Rent allowance, healthcare allowance or housing allowance
- Special wellfare
- Child support
- Part of a Child Budget: €290 is counted as income, the amount above that is not.
- Personal budget with which you purchase care
To object
Have you received a rejection and disagree with it? Then you can object within 6 weeks (DigiD required).
Long-term allowance
The long-term supplement no longer exists. On 1 January 2015, the long-term supplement was replaced by the individual income supplement.
