Childcare costs

Does your child go to nursery or childcare? Then you may be entitled to a municipal contribution towards the costs. Here you will find everything about applying for a contribution towards the costs of childcare.

When can you apply for the reimbursement?

All parents pay a personal contribution for toddler care or childcare. How much you pay yourself depends on your situation. Parents who work, study or follow an integration course can apply for childcare allowance at the tax authorities. In a few situations you can request compensation from the municipality.

Conditions for reimbursement of personal contribution for childcare or toddler facility

  • You have social assistance benefits and are caregiver.
  • You need childcare for social or medical reasons and will not receive a childcare allowance from the tax authorities.
  • You receive social assistance benefits while you follow a reintegration program or work part-time. Then you may be entitled to compensation for the personal contribution that remains after you have applied for childcare allowance from the Tax Authorities. You do not need to submit an application to us. Contact your client director about the contribution to childcare costs.
  • You are not entitled to social assistance benefits and are not entitled to childcare allowance from the tax authorities. There are social or medical reasons why childcare is necessary. You have a social medical indication (smi).

Your request will be processed within 8 weeks. The municipality checks whether childcare is necessary.
