Residents of Tilburg who have successfully repaid their debts are rid of their BKR registration after six months. First, residents automatically remained registered for 5 years with the Credit Registration Office (BKR).
What is a BKR registration?
All loans, some telephone subscriptions and debt counseling processes are registered at the Credit Registration Office (BKR). It's meant to protect people so they don't go into even more debt. But in practice, the BKR registration can actually work against people. Banks attach great importance to it. This makes it difficult for many residents to buy or even rent a house or start their own business. By removing the BKR registration from the system after six months, residents can get on with their lives more quickly.
