An investigation to find out what you can do
In an occupational health survey, you and a labor expert examine together what your 'load capacity' is. That is to say: you look at what you can do in the field of work, but also what is difficult for you in daily life. So difficult that you can't participate in everything. The employment expert will interview you and ask questions about, for example, your (previous) work and your education. It is possible that you and the employment expert are not yet clear after the interview. Then the employment expert can ask you to have another conversation with a doctor or psychologist. He or she will always do this in consultation with you.

What is it?
Together with a labor expert, you look at what your load capacity is. That is to say: you look at what you can do in the field of work, but also everything that you have difficulty with in daily life. So much effort that you can't participate in everything. The employment expert will interview you and ask questions about, for example, your (previous) work and your education. It may be that you and the occupational therapist are not yet clear after the interview. Then the employment expert can ask you to have a conversation with a doctor or psychologist. He or she will always do this in consultation with you.
2.
What is the goal?
After the investigation, you and your client director will have a clear idea of what is difficult for you, why that is and what your future opportunities are in the field of work. You will receive advice on how to make the step to work or an activity, to what kind of work and for how many hours. You and your client director together determine the questions on which you want clarity.
3.
How long does it take?
If your client director has registered you, you will receive an invitation within a week. If after the examination it is necessary to have a meeting with a doctor or psychologist who specializes in work, you will receive a separate invitation for this. In total, it takes a maximum of 8 weeks before you receive advice from the employment expert.
4.
For who is it?
You are eligible for this examination if you have physical or psychological complaints, which prevent you from participating properly in the work process or daily life. The research will show you what you can do. It is important that you, together with your client director, consider beforehand which questions you would like an answer to. If you think an occupational health survey can help you further, please contact your client director of Work & Income.

What does the contact look like?
The consultation with the occupational therapist takes approximately one hour. You have the conversation at the Koningsplein. You can discuss with the occupational therapist:
- Your employment history
- Your education
- Your daily schedule
- What obstacles do you experience in the field of work
You also discuss how you see your future and your motivation. At the end of the conversation, you decide together what the next step will be. It may be that many things are not yet clear (enough). The employment expert can then suggest that you have another conversation with a psychologist or doctor who specializes in work. The consultation with a doctor lasts about an hour. An examination at the psychologist in the morning or afternoon. The expert will also draw up a report of the conversation you had with him or her. This contains advice about your options. This is sent to you and your customer director. You discuss the report together.
