Introductory meeting with an employer
Are you looking for (other) work and do you want to know more about a certain industry or company? Then take advantage of the opportunity to have a network call at a company.
1.
What is it?
Are you looking for (other) work and do you want to know more about a certain industry or company? Then ask for a network conversation. In a network conversation you talk to people who do the work that you would like to do or people who work at a company that is of interest to you. The goal is not directly a job at the company you are going to look at. You conduct this interview to collect information, to show yourself and to show interest in the company or position. You get the chance to look inside a company before you possibly apply for a job.
2.
What is the goal?
You get more information about and feel about the industry. You know what positions there are within the company you are interviewing for. The conversation helps to discover whether this industry is right for you.
3.
How long does it take?
An interview usually lasts one hour.
4.
For who is it?
Would you like to know more about a certain industry to see if this is something for you? Or do you work in an industry where you can no longer do the work? Then the network conversation is the ideal way to see what your options are in another industry.
5.
What does the contact look like?
First you have contact with the work broker and then you have a conversation with an employer in an industry that appeals to you.
