Everyone on benefits received an energy allowance in 2022. Energy prices are still high. That is why you will receive another 500 euros in energy surcharge in March 2023. With this money you can pay part of your energy costs. You will receive a letter from us in March. You don't have to do anything yourself.
Why 500 euros?
We are already allowed to pay 500 euros to everyone who also received an energy allowance in 2022. In June 2023, the House of Representatives will make a decision on the new law. After that, it will be known who will receive another 800 euros in energy surcharge.
When will the money be in my account?
We transfer 500 euros to the bank account number known to us. The amount will be in your account mid-March.

The energy allowance does not count as income for your benefit. The energy allowance also does not count towards allowances you receive from the Tax and Customs Administration. Look for the latest news www.tilburg.nl/energy allowance.
