Price cap and discount

Price cap

In 2023 there will be a price ceiling for energy. With the price ceiling, you pay a fixed, low price for your gas, electricity and district heating. This price ceiling applies up to a certain consumption: the consumption ceiling.

With the price ceiling you pay in 2023:

  • € 1.45 per m³ for the first 1,200 m³ of gas
  • € 0.40 per kWh for the first 2,900 kWh of electricity
  • € 47.38 per Gigajoule for the first 37 Gigajoules (district heating)

These rates include energy tax and VAT.

You will never pay more than this price for the first 1,200 m3 of gas, 29.00 kWh of electricity or 37 Gigajoules. Not even if your energy contract states a higher price. Do you use more than 1,200 m3 gas and/or 2,900 kWh electricity and/or 37 Gigajoules? Then you pay the price from your energy contract for consumption above this price ceiling. Does your energy contract include a lower price? Then you pay the lower price.
