Energy prices have risen enormously. Many people also notice this in the energy bill. The government has therefore taken a number of measures to compensate for the extra costs. Such as the energy surcharge and an energy compensation for November and December 2022.
How do I get the 190 euro energy compensation?
Most energy companies automatically deduct this amount from your bill. Is your energy bill higher than 190 euros? Then you only pay the amount that remains. If you pay less than 190 euros in energy costs, the rest will be settled on your annual statement.
Example: if your energy bill is 100 euros in November, you pay nothing that month. The remaining 90 euros will be deducted from the final bill. You may still pay a few tenners for the delivery and network management costs. In that case you will receive a slightly higher amount back on the final bill.
Does this apply to all energy companies?
There are energy companies that do not settle the discount. You will then receive the 190 euros in November and December.
Important information
The energy compensation of two times 190 euros has no influence on your benefit or allowances. You do not have to report this income to us.
