The first most important things have been arranged with Vluchtelingenwerk: you have a house, you are insured and your finances are in order. After this, you and the Refugee Team will learn how to do this yourself in the future.

1. What is it?

The first most important things have been arranged with Vluchtelingenwerk: you have a house, you are insured and your finances are in order. After this, you and the Refugee Team will learn how to do this yourself in the future.

2. What is the goal?

The goal is that in the future you can arrange everything yourself in the Netherlands. For example, consider:

  • Conversations with organizations or doing your administration.
  • What to do to stay healthy.
  • How to make sure you don't get into debt.
  • How to get to know new people.

3. How long does it take?

This takes about 9 to 15 months. You agree this with your customer director at the municipality. It also comes into your personal plan.

4. For who is it?

For status holders who live in Tilburg. After the Dutch Council for Refugees has arranged the first practical matters with you.

5. What does the contact look like?

You will receive a personal guide from the Refugee Team. This counselor will draw up a plan with you. A plan to ensure that you can arrange your affairs yourself at the end of the process. In the plan you agree on how you will be supported in the following areas:

  • finance
  • health
  • living
  • social network
  • work/school.
