Language lessons and residence permit trajectories from 2022

First language lessons at WerkvloerTaal

During the period with the Refugee Team, you also start with language lessons. You will receive the language lesson at WerkvloerTaal.

1. What is it?

Your language lesson starts at the same time as the broad intake with the Refugee Team. You do this at the Werkvloertaal organisation. In an introductory meeting, a counselor will check with you which group you will be in:

  • (MBO+)
  • (MBO-)

At Werkvloertaal you learn the Dutch language. You do this in a startup class. You will soon notice that you know more and more words. You can use what you have learned in the workshops at Refugee Team about the Netherlands.

2. What is the goal?

The goal is that you start with the Dutch language as soon as possible. Your progress will be tested so that you can be placed in the right learning route after the start-up class and broad intake. After the start-up class you know what your follow-up trajectory is. You agree this with your client director. This can be at the ROC or at Werkvloertaal.

3. How long does it take?

You start in the startup class. The start-up class lasts approximately 10 weeks. You follow the lessons in the start-up class in addition to your lessons with the Refugee Team.

4. For who is it?

You participate if you:

  • are status holder
  • lives in Tilburg
  • participates in the broad intake process with the Refugee Team.

5. What does the contact look like?

In the start-up class you have lessons for 2 hours a week.
