What are the conditions of the Participation Scheme?

  • You are a resident of the municipality of Tilburg.
  • You (together with your partner) have a net income of up to 120% of the social assistance level. Under 'How much income and assets can I have?' the amounts are stated.
  • You (together) do not have more assets than allowed (for example, a car or savings).

How can I apply for the Participation Scheme?

Did you receive the Participation Scheme in 2023?

Then wait until January 8, 2024 to apply. The municipality will first check whether you will automatically receive the Participation Scheme. Did you not receive a letter about the Participation Scheme on January 8? Then apply for the scheme yourself. The municipality will then not have been able to determine whether you still meet the conditions.

You can apply for the 2024 Participation Scheme from January 1 (DigiD login required). The department immediately checks whether your partner and children up to the age of 18 living at home also receive a budget.

How long will it take before I hear whether I will receive the Participation Scheme?

We will ensure that you receive an answer within 8 weeks. The municipality checks your income data. Sometimes we need additional information. Then we will contact you.

Can someone help me with the application?

For help with the application you can go to the office hours of the Forms Help.

How do I calculate the income?

Add up all your income for one month (and that of your partner).

Add up

  • Income from work/benefits (without holiday allowance)
  • Pension, alimony/maintenance contribution
  • All other income
  • For married couples: the General Tax Credit Tax Credit (IB/PVV) for the least-earning partner
  • As a single parent, do you receive a child-related budget? Then you count €290 per month as income. The amount above that is not counted as income.

Don't count

  • Energy allowance or a contribution for energy costs from the national emergency fund
  • Rent allowance, healthcare allowance or housing allowance
  • Special wellfare
  • Child support
  • Part of a Child Budget: €290 is counted as income, the amount above that is not.
  • Personal budget with which you purchase care
